Lighting

Choosing the correct lighting option for any sign is an important, often overlooked, aspect of sign design.

Proper lighting can provide attractive highlights to your name when it would otherwise not be visible. This is especially important in high traffic areas near roadways. Be sure to consider the amount of regular night traffic at your location when you look into lighting for your sign.

Lets go over some of your options so that you can make an educated decision and get your sign working for you 24/7.

No Lights

Although electric lighting can provide additional impact it is not always necessary and can be omitted to reduce initial and future maintenance costs.

If you are concerned about the expense of your sign, lighting can be an area to leave out. If you would like to upgrade your sign by adding lights in the future be sure to let us know when we build your sign.

Reflective

The same reflective media used on street signs can be used on any sign board. This option will get you noticed without the expense and regular maintenance of electric lighting.

Reflective signs work best in areas where viewers are in a vehicle and headlights illuminate the sign.

Front Lit

Lighting in this configuration is usually provided by "Goose neck" light fixtures mounted above the sign. These lights curl back, illuminating the sign below.

A second option is the use of ground lighting which can illuminate your sign and your building creating dramatic effects at night.

Back-lit

The most common of the lit signs, back-lit boxes and channel letters are bright and reliable.

Using, Fluorescent tubes, LED modules or neon gas, we have the options to make your sign as bright and energy efficient as possible.

Halo-lit

Halo lighting presents a dramatic effect that lets light bleed out around raised opaque letters. This is a stunning sight with soft glowing edges in the evening hours.

Photocells and Timers

Making you look good and keeping your life simple.

Photocells are simple light sensors that will turn your sign on as soon as it is dark enough. Timers can be used to turn your sign on when you open and turn your sign off when you close, or whenever else you desire.
